Traveling among the Yazidi people mostly of whom have been living in Armenia since the Armenian Genocide times, means to enter in touch with a friendly people who warmly welcome you into their homes to talk about their religion, customs, rituals and so on, in front of an hot armenian coffee cup. 2019, September 29th was a great day for the whole Yazidi community all over the world: in Aknalich was officially opened the "Quba Mere Diwane", the world's largest Yazidi Temple; second for its importance after the holy site of Lalish (Iraq). It was for me the perfect occurrence for going further the opening cerimony and telling the ordinary life of such community. I met the "sheikhs" and "pîrs", the religious authorities, and the lay "murîds" as well; I learnt the holy meaning of the "stêr" (the shrine, as a focus of devotion in the homes of religious families); I entered the schools where children may learn both the normal school program and the yazidi language and the kindergartens where yazidi and armenian children jointly play and grow; I visited the shepherds' tents during the summer transhumance. Everywhere I was welcame by smiling and friendly people.
