Luciano Faini is still working in the same laboratory opened in the 40s which is one of the oldest marble workshops in Pietrasanta and one of the few ones still operating in the center of
the town whilst the majority moved outside.
With the occasional help of Aladino - "...but everyone call me Vittorio" he said, "nobody knows Bizzarri Aladino" - Luciano Faini still works the marble slabs as in the past, although for
handicraft purpose only.
In the workshop, inside a wooden box, the rolled up projects once used to build its hand-carved marble works, take us back to years and years. And what about the drawings and the work notes
covered with dust and fadded by the years still hanging on one of the wall of the laboratory?
Luciano still preserves the photographs of his marble creations which he used in the past for marketing purpose: I have included some of that in this presentation. Moreover, among his
several negative photographic images on film, I found out an absolute rarity: a negative image 24x36 cm. in specially prepared glass made with an optical bench around the 50s.
